Match-3 Element: Game Design & Integration

This project demonstrates the complete cycle of introducing a new element into a match-3 game: from the idea and reference to the result in the released game. A public example of a competitor's mechanics is used as a benchmark - it sets the initial principle of operation and the framework of expectations for perception. GDD of an element has been compiled: rules, damage, interactions with bonuses and other objects. The pipeline is described in a separate diagram: review, art production, prototyping, level testing, integration, QA, and refinement. The case concludes with shipped gameplay - a demonstration of how the element looks and plays. 🎮 My responsibilities: reference analysis and feature framing, defining the element ruleset (damage model, states, and interactions with boosters/objects), writing the GDD and updating it through iteration, coordinating with art and engineering to keep implementation aligned with the spec, validating the element through level testing and tuning, supporting QA with edge cases, repro steps, and final polish, preparing the shipped gameplay walkthrough/demo.
